Two layers of glass bonded to a clear plastic layer. When it is hit, it chips or cracks but holds together, which is why small windshield damage can often be repaired.
Heat-treated glass that breaks all at once into small, blunt pieces. It cannot be repaired, so a broken side or back window is always replaced.
Repair or replace?
Not every crack means a new windshield. These are the general rules we go by; we will tell you which one your glass needs once we see it or hear about it.
